WALKING AS HE WALKED

As we grow older in life and in the Lord, all of us have been examples to others at one time or another.
What we do and say can change the lives of those around us.
All of us have followed the example of others at one time or another.
We will be an example to others And we will still follow the example of others.
The best example we have is the Lord Jesus Christ.
He lived the perfect life.
He is God in the flesh.
He is the perfect example.
3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar,
and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. 1 John 2:3-6 NKJV
After a person is saved, his life has been changed.
2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
As part of this new life in Christ, a person is to learn to walk closely to the Lord. It is called abiding in Christ. A person abides in Christ, as he studies God's Word, thinks on God's Word, and obeys God's Word. He also abides in Christ, as he stays in constant communication with the Lord through prayer.
The first requirement for any individual to be right with God is to be saved.
If you and I claim to abide in Christ as Christians, we are to walk as he walked!
We are to follow His examples!
My challenge to you this morning is to "walk as He walked." Follow the examples of the Lord Jesus Christ. Let’s look at some examples from Matthew, as we show some of the attributes of Jesus which we should follow.
JESUS CHRIST WAS BAPTIZED. I SHOULD BE BAPTIZED. Matthew 3:13-17, Matthew
28:19-20, Acts 10:44-48
JESUS CHRIST RESISTED SIN. I SHOULD RESIST SIN. Matthew 4:1-11
JESUS CHRIST SERVED. I SHOULD SERVE. Matthew 8:1-4
JESUS CHRIST PLEASED THE FATHER. I SHOULD PLEASE THE FATHER. Matt 17:1-5
JESUS CHRIST PRACTICED FAITH. I SHOULD PRACTICE FAITH. Matthew 17:14-21
JESUS CHRIST HAD COMPASSION. I SHOULD HAVE COMPASSION. Matthew 20:29-34
