March 2007 E-Mail Update
A Note From Ed,
Dear Friends, When you read this, Carol and I will be in Australia and New Zealand ministering. It is a trip we have put off for a long time, but now that Carol has retired we have the time and the air miles to go. Mormonism has especially grown strong in New Zealand.
I will be speaking in the heart of it at several venues, especially in Hamilton, N.Z. from March 29th through April 2nd. We will have many DVDs and CDs to hand out to pastors at every venue. Thank you to those who have given recently so that this is possible. Keep us in your prayers as we travel.
Ever since Mitt Romney announced his run for the White House, I have been busy answering questions from news agencies and doing radio programs discussing Mormonism. It has brought Mormonism to the forefront of public discussion and that always gives us the opportunity to share the Real Jesus and True Salvation with many more Mormons.
I am aghast at the numbers of Christian leaders who have already endorsed Romney (or at least have refused to renounce him when asked by the media) and have thus given him a Christian forum to seek votes from.
I have received a number of emails about an alleged appearance Romney made on TBN, where the audience was advised that ‘this is a moral man and we should vote for him’. On the surface, it is true that his “motherhood and apple pie” persona will bring many votes.
But buyers, beware of this LDS high priest who has sworn to The LDS Brethren, oaths of obedience and sacrifice in the LDS Temple ritual, to bring in the “Kingdom of God” on earth, the LDS theocratic government that will take over the USA and usher in the millennial reign of Christ...

Regent University Commencement Address on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 9:30 a.m.
Drawing upon his experience as the former governor of Massachusetts, chairman of
the Republican Governors’ Conference, and president of the 2002 Winter Olympics,
Romney will speak to graduates on “Leadership in Critical Times.”
I think we need to think long and hard about what we are willing to sacrifice for votes. American values are in a shambles, if the TV and advertising fare we are fed is any example.
The church needs to “Come out from among them,” - not dig a hole next to them.

'The Mormons' on PBS takes aim at stereotypes

PASADENA, CA. -- Award-winning filmmaker Helen Whitney has one over-arching goal for her four-hour production "The Mormons," which airs this spring on PBS. "I hope that most of the stereotypes - ideally, all of them - will be blown away," she told the Deseret Morning News on Saturday. "Because so many of them are just based on ignorance. Ignorance about Mormon history, ignorance about Mormon theology. Ignorance."
The two-part, four-hour documentary, a presentation of both "American Experience" and "Frontline" - their first co-production - is to air nationally on April 30 and May 1.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- While Mitt Romney condemns polygamy and its prior practice by his Mormon church, the Republican presidential candidate's great-grandfather had five wives and at least one of his great-great grandfathers had 12.
Polygamy was not just a historical footnote, but a prominent element in the family tree of the former Massachusetts governor now seeking to become the first Mormon president.
Romney's great-grandfather, Miles Park Romney, married his fifth wife in 1897. That was more than six years after Mormon leaders banned polygamy and more than three decades after a federal law barred the practice.

Imam leads Democrats in prayer of conversion
Muslim leader at party's winter meeting also asks Allah to stop 'the occupation'

With heads bowed reverently, Democrats were led in prayer yesterday by a Muslim imam who essentially asked Allah to assist in converting the party members to Islam, according to a scholar and author, Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch and author of The Truth about Muhammad.
In the name of God the most merciful, the most compassionate. We thank you, God, to bless us among your creations. We thank you, God, to make us as a great nation. We thank you God, to send us your messages through our father Abraham and Moses and Jesus and Muhammad. Through you, God, we unite. So guide us to the right path. The path of the people you bless, not the path of the people you doom. Help us God to liberate and fill this earth with justice and peace and love and equality. And help us to stop the war and violence, and oppression and occupation. Ameen.
Spencer, in a post on his Jihad Watch website, said he found it interesting to see the Muslim leader praying, "In veiled terms to be sure, for their conversion to Islam, and, oh yes, for the destruction of Israel ("And help us to stop the war and violence, and oppression and occupation").
"Imagine if a Christian priest or minister had prayed at a DNC meeting that those attending be guided away from the path of those doomed by God," Spencer said. He explained the imam was echoing the Fatiha, the first sura, or chapter, of the Quran and the most common prayer of Islam.
It asks Allah: "Show us the straight path, the path of those whom Thou hast favored; not the (path) of those who earn Thine anger nor of those who go astray."
The traditional Islamic understanding is that the "straight path" is Islam, Spencer points out.
On the other hand, he continued, the path of those who have earned Allah's anger are the Jews, and those who have gone astray are the Christians.

Brothers in Christ, I am the current "worshipful" master of a Masonic lodge. Due to some new information which God has brought to me I have decided to renounce masonry altogether. Please pray for the people whom I have inducted into freemasonry with good intentions and those masons both in mine and other lodges who wish to be good Christians but have been poisoned with wrong information.
Please also pray for me in this time of transition that no harm or evil will befall me due to my separation from the lodge and the subsequent testimony against freemasonry that I plan to give. Guide my family and those of all misguided masons to seek the one true light which is our savior Jesus Christ. Joe

Dear Ed, My wife and I have attended a small
Baptist Church for about 3 years. I recently discovered our pastor has been a
member of the Freemasons for over thirty years.
Information I've read has convinced me that a Christian should not be associated
with this organization.
When I asked him about it he said and I quote, "It's a great organization,
better than the church in many ways, they kick you out if you don't do what they
say", end quote.
Sadly I'm not that studied in God's Word, what would you advise me to do? Tom
Dear Tom, Truth? Leave the church... I am sure the deacons/ board are Masons as well as is the case in such situations.
It is such a pity that a man of God is really serving a false god, Jaobulon, in Freemasonry. After 30 years in it, I am sure he has no plans to repent. How can the Holy Spirit operate in a congregation when its leader is bowing before other gods?? It cannot. Ed

It had been hyped as a huge, major social milestone in U.S. history, since for the time, the head coaches of both teams were black.
But when the game was over and the Colts had defeated the Chicago Bears 29-17, both the winning and losing coaches said Jesus Christ was more important than any racial moment. Way to go!
