Saints Alive In Jesus

June Update Report   2010

Dear Friends,

Things have certainly been busy over the last month. On a personal note, Carol and I have just finished a month long, downsizing move from our home to a Condo and we are just getting back our strength from a month long virus that had us hacking and coughing and sneezing.  Just getting to sleep through the night again is marvelous!

Many of the things we have gathered over the decades that we thought were so important ended up on Craig’s list or sit in boxes in our new one car garage.  I doubt that I will be parking the car in it for some time.

Now I can get back to the work of the ministry again in my full-time mode.  I apologize for all the backed up emails and will have them all caught up within the next week.

I am still battling through problems with the new web site. If there is anyone out there who can give me the step-by-step method of loading Word Documents and PDF files onto a Joomla site, please let me hear from you.

Summers are supposed to be slow times for ministries, but the pace has been picking up instead of slowing down.

Last week, I was a guest on Brannon Howse’s Worldview Weekend radio show, discussing Freemasonry and its grip on many Southern Baptist churches and the impact the Lodge has on all churches where it infiltrates the leadership.  The program reaches several hundred thousand listeners. You can listen to it at: http://www.worldviewweekend.com/worldview-radio/episode.php?episodeid=16750

Prior to that, on May 1, 2010 [hour 2]  I was a guest of Jan Markel’s Olive Tree ministries’ program, “Understanding the Times” where temporary host and good friend, Eric Barger and I discussed Mormonism’s claim of being a Christian church. Again, the outreach was huge and the response on visits to our site and emails with many questions was outstanding.

Listen to that program at:  http://www.olivetreeviews.org/radio/mp3/index.php?page=1

Brannon Howse has also asked me to be a contributing editor to WorldView Weekend Magazine and website.  I am looking forward to that challenge.

I am so grateful for the love and friendship you have given us over the years and will never take your partnership for granted. I do keep you always in my prayers and pray that God pour out a great abundance to you in health, finances, and relationships.  Please remember that I pray for every prayer request you send in and I know He hears and answers.

Your brother in Christ,

Ed Decker

Help

I Need your Website Help with Google

I know all the pros and cons of doing business with Google, but Google ads do generate an income that supports the maintenance of our site and fills in some of the gap that is missing when donations do not cover the costs.

That being said, Google forgets quite regularly that we are a site that is in ‘conflict’ with Mormonism and Freemasonry. We try as hard as we can to keep them out, but every few days or so a Masonic or Mormon related ad pops in there.

I expect to have the problem worked out over the next few weeks, but could use a little help.  If you see such an ad during a visit to our site, please email me immediately so we can zap it. Each zap defines what we will allow, making the parameters a little tighter with each Zap.  Thanks for any help here!

You have my word that if we are not able to correct this problem, we will cancel our ad program with Google rather than give support to the adversary.

From My In-Box

From My Face Book Page:

"Before I knew Christ, I was Mormon... I attended the temple regularly.  I, too, felt "privileged”, “worthy”, “qualified”, and "mature"...  looking back now, I am so saddened and have had to repent for my *arrogance*.

Now that I truly know Jesus Christ, I know I am not worthy of anything He has to offer - but He gives it to me anyway.

Also, there is absolutely nothing that Christ has to teach that cannot be shouted to the world from the mountaintops.  In fact, that is exactly what we are called to do.

I have also learned from the Bible that not only can I no longer embrace the Mormon temple secrets and the arrogance it took to get them, but in order to obey God, I must completely reject them.

I also get called "anti-Mormon", and am accused of bashing, and following a religion of hate, and having a hard heart.  But until the day I die, I will continue to fight FOR the Mormon people, and pray for them to find Jesus Christ, repent, and completely trust Him alone."  Connie

One brother in a similar ministry wrote:

Ed, you are a hero of the faith to me. Everything on my website and the research was started by the seed that you and the late Walter Martin's work out in me. God gave the increase and because of your work and ministry. Do not forget that brother because I am nothing and have nothing in this ministry without your small burning ember that lit the fuse in my heart for this mission.

It is spiritually draining and exhausting when you deal with the persecution that comes from this but you inspire me.

Another wrote:

Your work with Dave Hunt and book with Dr. Ron Carlson are also very, very important in my young Christian life in the 1980s !!!  Well, just know you are and have been in our prayers for a long time! I met you back in 1996.

And a recent contact wrote:

God bless you for your faithful ministry year in and year out.  It must be exhausting and exasperating at times working in this highly resistant mission field - but God loves Mormons and I am so glad you love them too!  I am looking forward to exploring the rest of your site and learning.  Just wanted to encourage you, brother.

An Ex-Mormon commented:

Thank you for a wonderful web page, it was by no accident I found this while researching the reported bible reference to the book of Mormon. It is nice to know I am not alone. Keep up your good works.

I want to let you know that I support what you are doing.    I am an Ex Mormon of almost 2 years. I accepted Christ and I am for anyone who works to help other lost Mormons find the Real Jesus Christ.  God Bless You All. Dennis

A Word of Encouragement

Hello Ed, I grew up listening to Dr. Walter Martin in the 80's and heard you on some of his tapes.  I just wanted to encourage you NOT to grow weary in doing good.

I am currently going into my fourth appt with two Mormon Missionaries and sometimes I feel like nothing I say is penetrating... Then I remember that my job is to lovingly position the truth and the Holy Spirit will cut the heart, open eyes and unstop ears in His perfect timing.

You are right though it gets frustrating because you openly give them evidence and facts and they ignore them and move on to something else.  Then when they come back the next time, they have answers that aren't even very good answers or no answers at all...

and all I can do is continue to pray that as they move into their new region, the Lord will direct them to loving, Christian homes that are prepared to give them answers for the hope that lies within them with gentleness and respect and that will continue to plant and water seeds.

Thank you for your ministry... it helps me know that it IS possible for Mormons to finally see the truth.  Thank you for standing for the TRUTH and for defending the faith once for all delivered to the saints. In His Name and for His sake, Kelly

Jesus Christ was baptized and “sealed” to Mary Magdalene in the Salt Lake (Mormon) Temple

Jesus of Nazareth, also known as Jesus Christ, or simply Jesus, is the central figure of Christianity. The life and sermons of Jesus form the basis of the Christian faith. Jesus Christ is recognized by believing Christians as God incarnate, the Son of God who was raised from the dead—the Redeemer of mankind—the most important figure in history.

According to Mormon doctrine, Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. However, it seems that even the perceived Savior of the world is not exempt from LDS temple rituals. Proxy rites for Jesus Christ were performed in the Salt Lake (LDS) Temple in Utah, in April 2010.

The Salt Lake Temple, located on Temple Square in the heart of Mormon-dominated Salt Lake City, was dedicated on April 6, 1893—three years before Utah became a state in 1896—and is one of the oldest of the 132 currently operating temples that are owned and maintained by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS.)

New FamilySearch is the online genealogy database of the LDS Church that contains updated details of LDS temple ordinances that have been done for dead people. There are multiple listings for Jesus Christ in New FamilySearch—under different versions of his identity—which have been submitted by individual Mormons. It is not known how many times Jesus has been subjected to LDS rites because all New FamilySearch records for him—including combined records—show LDS ordinance details as “Not Available.”

On May 27, 2010, there were two similar records for Jesus in New FamilySearch which had been submitted by the same person. One listing was titled “Jesus Christian,” and showed “Jesus Christian” was born “before 1500 Bethlehem, Israel,” and died “before 1550 Jerusalem, Israel.” LDS ordinances were tagged as “Not available” on this record.

The other entry was for “Jesus Cristian, who was born “before 1502 Bethlehem, Israel,” and died “before 1539 Jerusalem, Israel.” The entry for “Jesus Cristian” gave a description of LDS ordinances, along with the name of a spouse“Maria Magdelena.”

“Jesus Cristian” was baptized and confirmed a member of the LDS Church by proxy on April 8, 2010 in the “Salt Lake City Utah Temple.” “Jesus Cristian” was also subjected to initiatory temple ordinances on April 8, 2010; an endowment ceremony on April 9, 2010; and a marriage “sealing” to “spouse” “Maria Magdelena” on April 9, 2010—all rites occurred in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple.”

It appears the submissions for “Jesus Christian,” and “Jesus Cristian” were attempts to manipulate the identity of Jesus Christ through the LDS temple system. The misspelled “Cristian,” instead of “Christian,” could have been a typo, or a deliberate error. It may have been intentionally entered as “Cristianto get around a computer program that automatically blocks submissions that contain the names “Jesus Christ.” That would explain why the entry for “Jesus Christian” shows LDS ordinances as “Not available.”

While both New FamilySearch records in question lack complete birth and death data, and give imprecise “before” years of these events—the first name “Jesus” combined with the surnames “Christian” and “Cristian” (both spins on the name of “Christ”) are signs that “Jesus Christian” and “Jesus Cristian” are pseudonyms for Jesus Christ.

Other indicators on the New FamilySearch records that point to Jesus Christ are the birth place, “Bethlehem,” and the death location, “Jerusalem.” (Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem and died outside the walls of old Jerusalem.) Another clue to the identity of “Jesus Cristian” is the name of his “spouse”—“Maria Magdelena,” a misspelled variant of Mary Magdalene. “Maria Magdelena” is not listed on the “Jesus Christian” record.

Because “Jesus Christian” and “Jesus Cristian” have similar names and identical birth and death locations—“Bethlehem” and “Jerusalem,” they are probably the same person.

Their birth and death years are similar, but not the same. The estimated dates listed for these events look like they have been fabricated. According to their New FamilySearch records, “Jesus Christian” and “Jesus Cristian” were born and died in the 16th century. “Jesus Christian” lived roughly 50 years, while “Jesus Cristian” died in his thirties.

On May 27, 2010, “Maria Magdelena” was listed in New FamilySearch with her birth date as “1504 Israel,” and death date as “before 1540 Israel.” Both years are likely inventions. Along with “spouse” “Jesus Cristian,” “Maria Magdelena” was baptized and confirmed a member of the LDS Church by proxy on April 8, 2010 in the “Salt Lake City Utah Temple.” She was subjected to initiatory temple ordinances on April 8, 2010; an endowment ceremony on April 9, 2010; and the marriage “sealing” to “Jesus Cristian” on April 9, 2010—all rites were done in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple.”

Mary Magdalene is described in the New Testament as a faithful follower of Jesus. Because the concept of marriage is strongly emphasized in LDS teachings, the notion that a spousal relationship existed between Jesus and Mary Magdalene is common among Mormons—although that belief is not formal LDS doctrine. There is no reliable historical evidence to indicate that Jesus was married—to Mary Magdalene, or anyone else.

LDS Church officials have publicly stated that the New FamilySearch program is a technological deterrent to improper submissions. Yet—under their very noses—on Temple Square in Salt Lake City, Jesus Christ—under a false name—two millennia after his birth, was offered Mormon salvation and an erroneous eternal marriage sealing.

Sometime late in the day on May 27, 2010, the individual entries for “Jesus Cristian” and “Maria Magdelena” were scrubbed from New FamilySearch—concealing the evidence that LDS rites had recently been performed for these two names in the Salt Lake Temple. The sudden disappearance of these records is a strong indication that “Jesus Cristian” and “Maria Magdelena” represent Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene.

Getting Involved in the Ministry

Last month, Heidi, a former Mormon with a zeal to minister to the Mormon people contacted me on Facebook and asked for some “getting involved” advice.

I think that my response should help some of you who have that same desire. In it, I talk about how I began this work and the many blessings and pitfalls I encountered along the way. I have since done a little editing to the note I sent Heidi.

Reflections on My Ministry/ Ed Decker

Dear Heidi, thanks for writing.. I have been in the middle of a move the past few weeks, so my Facebook time has been limited..

I am so glad that you have been 'set free' from the bondage we both struggled within.  For me, it took a bit more.. didn't cut loose until I was 39.  By the age of 42, I was in full time ministry to the Mormons and that was, oh wow, 33 years ago....

I have slowed down over the years, a lot due to illness, but my zeal grows exponentially. I may walk around like Caleb, but have a Joshua spirit. Every day I get up knowing that God will use me somewhere exciting.

I also have been a pastor, retiring about 3 years ago..  I enjoyed working with the people of the congregation, such a change from dealing with the darkness of Mormonism.

I have closed my offices and work with my wife, my sons who pitch in when needed and a daughter-in-law who manages the mail and general office activities from her home nearby.

Amazing how much can be accomplished in my study on my laptop and the web.. I am still seeing such great fruit from this work that I will be doing it until the Lord takes me home for good.. I  have had a few close calls already but keep getting tossed back.

When I started out, I didn’t have a plan or a team.  I was an new Christian, saved in a little neighborhood church, where I learned about the power of the gifts in me and the anointing that comes through prayer and the WORD indwelled..

I prayed that the Lord would open doors, to send me those He wanted me to share His love with. I didn’t advertise or go after anyone.  Once I determined I would  minister in His Grace,  I waited and He sent them to me and opened doors in SS classes, home Bible Studies and then FGBFI  asked me to share my testimony and then Churches asked me to speak at the pulpit and then…. Mormons would show up at my door…  and before long, I was in full time ministry..

Then came the books and films…missionary trips with teams of young/and old people to Utah and then almost 50 countries later..  The web is filled with sites dealing with the LDS issues, hundred of ministries have sprung up when there were less than you could count on your fingers when we started.  These ministries and sites contain tremendous insight to the heresies of Mormonism.

I think it essential that you wait upon the Lord for His plan for your ministry DNA. If you are in balance with His will, He will begin the work in and through you.

One point of caution. Some of the ministries to the Mormons operate in the natural, and while good argument is fine, it must be balanced by prayer and understanding that the Mormons are not our enemies or God’s enemies.  They are victim and even the aggressive ones are only behaving as they are spiritually led to behave.

I have taken a lot of hits over the years because I am considered too radical, bold, and a ‘sensationalist.’  I am not welcome in some Christian ministry circles.

The Mormons say that I write half-truths, misrepresentation, and even outright lies.  I have been offering to dialogue those issues for over 30 years and have few takers.  They don’t say that about my co-authors. I am accused of things that other people have done and I usually shrug it off. There are as many anti-Ed Decker sites out there, filled in many cases with outrageous lies.. that would be laughable if it didn’t effect some witnessing.

Expect that some will speak quite negatively about you, your motives, your character, your research and your failure to live the laws and ordinances of the LDS gospel. If you let the naysayers get to you, fold up your tent today, because, if you are effective in this work, they will live at your heels continually. If you must worry about something, worry when everyone speaks well of you.

In looking back, I would change very little. I saw ministries that had been at it

for years with little or no fruit, or in lives changed.. I felt the call was to go out and be as the fox, setting fire to the fields..  For a number of years, as I traveled through Utah and the adjoining States, we had both revival and riots.. Reminded us of the days of Paul’s ministry, when he escaped by being lowered from a window in a basket.

In later years, I have  spent more time researching, writing, training  and mentoring others.. I have no regret that my name and reputation have been slandered and scorned.. I’ll let the Lord deal with His correction for me, as He has over the years..

We have seen many tens of thousands of lives changed over the years and with all those men and women out there in all the ministries, who replace the false gospel with the true, who divide the Word carefully, share the real Jesus instead of the Mormon jesus, I would guess as many people drop out of Mormonism as join it these days.

I suggest you look at an article I wrote a while back. It  will   give you much more direction http://www.saintsalive.com/resourcelibrary/general/geting-involved-in-ministry

Heidi, please use any or all of any resource we have, change it to your own needs and be free to take full ownership.I will be praying for you as you and your husband step out in faith. I know this Facebook group will be a great blessing to you and those of us who share it with you.

and finally, one email that I thought you would enjoy

Hi Ed,   This last weekend I was getting my hair trimmed by a long time friend.  She told me of a story this last Christmas time.  She and her husband were invited to a neighborhood recital party.  They went where most were unbelievers.  Then one neighborhood couple came in.  His name was Gary  They came in 3 sheets to the wind and drunk.  They continued drinking wine during the evening.  Another guest was a Mormon Bishop.  After the recital Gary kept slurring congratulations to the recitalist.  Then he turned to the Mormon Bishop and asked if his "church" was by I-90?  He said yes.  A little later he asked the Bishop again if his "church" was beside I-90? Graciously the Bishop answered again yes.  Then Gary said, "you know, the church with Ken Griffey Jr. on top"?
