Web Newsletter - JUNE 2005

www.saintsalive.com

Dear Friends of Saints Alive,

Warm greetings in the Name of The Lord.  Here are some interesting Updates for you.

Mormonism

Just two weeks ago, the local Mormon Church held an evening meeting for their neighbors, entitled and widely advertised as “Are Mormons Christian?” I looked forward to the meeting, hoping that they would answer that question by explaining some of the doctrine that separated their church from Christian orthodoxy.  However, that did not occur.

There was a large crowd in attendance. I was glad to see about 20 former Mormons in the audience but quickly realized that we Ex-Mormons and a few others were the only non-Mormons there.  The speaker did a great job in speaking about those things the Mormons hold in common with other religious people and while I knew the definitions of many terms meant one thing to the Mormons and another thing to the rest of us, the speaker testified of his love for the Lord and the ‘gospel’ and everyone smiled happily.

When the advertised questions and answer ‘forum’ time came, the LDS panel [including the Stake President] sidestepped every single question that would define simple differences. In the end, all the Mormons felt the meeting was a huge success and those of us who understand what took place left with the sad answer, No the Mormons are still not Christian.

I am convinced now that the Tabernacle event in Utah  [reported last emailed Newsletter] a while back where several Christian speakers joined with the Mormons has opened a door of boldness for the LDS church to push its way deeper into ecumenical Christian territory.

I expect the LDS church to tune down its own teachings within its own ranks, in order to draw in new converts and keep the ones that are rapidly falling away.

Speaking about LDS inroads into the Christian World...

I just received a review copy of the LDS book, A Different Jesus? The Christ of The Latter-Day Saints, by  BYU Professor   Robert L. Millet, with a foreword and afterword, By Dr. Richard J. Mouw, President of Fuller Theological Seminary.  This is the same Richard Mouw who stood up in the Salt Lake Tabernacle and asked the Mormons to forgive the Christians [like us] for attacking them with lies and hatred.

The main reason I even mention it is that the book is published by Christian Publisher Wm. B. Eerdmans (www.eerdmans.com)

I will be doing a review of the book in my next report.

Will Our Next President Be a Mormon?

Here is a very interesting article about plans under way for a Mormon in the White House:

The Next Chapter of My Book

Read Chapter Three Now! My Kingdom Come, The Mormon Quest for Godhood.

Freemasonry

I reported recently that the Masons are watching their numbers drop significantly as more Masons

are dying every year than they can recruit replacements for. Here is an interesting article that tells how some lodges are handling the problem: http://www.reachouttrust.org/news/news134.htm

Many ‘traditional” Masons are in an uproar about the trivializing of the craft. http://web.mit.edu/dryfoo/www/Masonry/One-Day/index.html

Islam and the Middle East

During my recent month of study in Israel, I listened to several great speakers open up the doors of understanding to the issues at hand with Israel and the Islamic world.  I have placed several of these lectures on our website at http://www.saintsalive.com/audiolibrary.html

I especially hope you listen to a dynamic teaching by Pastor Peter Tsukahira, from Mount Carmel Fellowship that fully explains the acts of Islamic terrorism sweeping across the Mid-East and abroad. Listen to Islam & the Roots of Rejection and understand what is happening across the globe.

The Liberal Press is going all out to present Islam as the religion of peace, kinder and sweeter than Christianity and defenseless victims of Judaism.  Most recently, US News and World Report presented a super positive look at the 'Secrets of Islam', in its centennial edition and received rave reviews from the Muslims.

By the way...We really could use a little help

Saints Alive is a faith supported ministry. We operate solely on the gifts [and orders] of our supporters. Things are tight every month, but in June, our support gets pretty thin. Please, will you pray about sending in a gift to the work here. If you can help out, just go to our main web page  www.saintsalive.com and click on the click on the “Give a Donation” tag on the left side of the page and it will take you to a secure donation section of our website. Thank you for caring and sharing!

Keep in Touch

If you have a question, You can mail me directly at ed@saintsalive.com

I am also very involved in praying for the needs our friends send in. If you have a personal prayer need, a health issue or a lost loved one, send me a note. I personally pray for every prayer request that comes in. It is a part of my personal ministry back to you. I have great faith for answered prayer!  The Bible says that when two or more of us are in agreement, things happen!

"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.  20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."  Matt 18:19-20

Our own family has been praying for a family member who was about to be laid off at an age when it would be difficult to find other work at the same income. We agreed together and prayed daily that she not be laid off and not lose her needed income. Yesterday, she was called in to the boss’ office and was not laid off, but promoted and given a great raise in pay.  We are praising our wonderful God who does answer prayer. Let me personally join with you in prayer and see God’s grace meet your need today.
