An Important message from Ed

I want to thank our many supporters who responded to our last newsletter and helped the ministry back in the black and finish the conversion of The Mormon Dilemma and The Temple of The God Makers videos to DVD. You are such faithful friends.

I continue to recover from my stroke. My zeal and passion has never waned, just my ability to act. I spoke at the NW Christian Life Impact Conference in Spokane, WA and while I was exhausted from the effort, I had a great time being back to my ‘old self.’ Today, my passion for the lost brings me to dedicate this issue to a critical matter of urgency.

As I read and watch the daily news, I am convinced we are experiencing the birth pains of the end times.  Any one ‘out of control’ issue might temper that prophetic urgency, even two or three, but with the dozens of critical signs lighting up the skies, we are spiraling into the end times at the speed of light.

I do not know how the un-saved world can cope without the hope of Christ and His soon return.  Even though we have that great peace and joy that come from our faith in Him, we must anguish over what we witness on a daily basis.

I think of the many things I have seen in my lifetime and in the last few years…even just months… I can’t believe what I am witnessing. America is becoming Gomorrah and the whole world is in a battle to the death radical Islam. That is the subject I want to urgently address today.

I‘ve studied Islam for over ten years and I am convinced that the sons of Ishmael are rising up in a blood bath of rebellion to take the world for Islam. My small book, Understanding Islam, The Mystery  Religion, simply and clearly defines the critical issues and  needs to go out to every pastor, every church in the English speaking world.

I have already given away more than we have sold, and while the cost to privately publish them has been high, I am praying that some of you will   help us publish the quantities we need to widely distribute this timely and important message. It’s just a tenth of a tenth of a tenth

We must understand that the large majority of Muslims living in the United Sates have come here to live lives of peace and prosperity. Many have said that life here is wonderful, marvelous. They contribute much to our society. Many fathers and husbands are able to release their daughters and wives to live life freely, openly, without degradation or sexual mutilation in the name of Allah. They can go to school, be educated, have careers, drive cars, go to the movies and marry whom they love.

After speaking to many who study these things, I would guess that over 90% of the Muslims in America live such lives in peace, having Americanized their faith without compromising their beliefs. However, that leaves 10% who maintain the fundamentalism of radical Islam. The percentage is small, but the actual number of such Muslims in America alone is about 600,000.

If we took just ten percent of that number, we would have 60,000 Muslims here who maintain that America is the great Satan the Islamic extremists shout about. In their minds, we must either bow to Allah or be slain in his holy name. A tenth of that small minority leaves us with a pool of about 6,000 extremist Muslims with the potential for terrorist behavior. These are such as those who attacked us on September 11, 2001, living here among us, as an Islamic Fifth Column. For those too young to remember the Second World War, a Fifth Column is a group of people, although residing, even as citizens of the United States, act traitorously and subversively on behalf of an enemy.

On a global basis, with over a billion Muslims and dealing with just 20% falling into this fundamentalist group, we have 200 million fundamentalists and over 20 million Muslims who have a Jihad world view. Following my one tenth of one percent formula, we are left with a pool of over 2 million fanatic zealots out there who can easily become “terrorists for Allah.” [ed: Jihad: 1: a holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty 2: a crusade for a principle or belief. My estimates in this area were confirmed when I recently watched an MSNBC special report during which an expert calculated that she [a Dr. Hunter] estimated the number of extreme radicals in countries where Islam is in the majority, to be double my figures.

This is going to be a long and difficult war against the likes of Osama bin Laden and we must know what we are dealing with. Through all this, we must never let fear and anger against that one tenth of one percent jade our hearts and actions against those who live among us as friends and neighbors. We must let them see the love of Christ in us, remembering that we are all made in His image, and His Son died for us all. Anything less would be to deny the call of Christ in our lives. In light of the recent tragic and brutal death (beheading) of American Nick Berg in Iraq, I felt led to share some thoughts on this matter.  Many in the news media are questioning the motivation behind the gruesome murder of this innocent American: Was it in retaliation for the Iraqi prisoner abuse photos?  Is this a political message regarding the American presence in Iraq?  Or are these murderers simply a crazy fringe element of the Islamic faith?

Unfortunately for the American public, very few news commentators understand the real situation and motivation behind the atrocious murder of Nick Berg (or the murders of the four American contractors a couple of weeks ago, or the execution of American journalist Daniel Pearl in Pakistan last year, 9/11, or the ongoing slaughter of millions of innocent people (especially Jews and Christians) around the world).  The reality of these various situations, and the motivation behind them, is not political, it is not revenge, and they are not simply the byproduct of “the radical extremists” of Islam. These detestable atrocities are nothing more than the actions of faithful Muslims carrying out their “Allah” inspired and directed commands found in the Koran- the Muslim holy book. 
 
Over the past two weeks I have been reading the Koran for myself, trying to decide, apart from all of the rhetoric out there, whether or not Islam really is a religion of peace and tolerance as is so often claimed.  I would encourage all of you to engage in this pursuit for yourself; examine the words of the Koran and I believe that you will come to understand the true nature of Islam (I am reading the “Penguin Classics” translation of the Koran by N.J. Dawood- one of the most literal English translations).

As I’ve read through the words of Allah (the Muslim god) given to Mohammed (Islam’s founder/prophet) in the Koran, I have been shocked, saddened, and disturbed to find that Islam’s holy book does not advocate a religion of peace and tolerance, rather, the Koran repeatedly and overwhelmingly admonishes Muslims to fight against all non-Muslims, to persecute and even kill non-Muslims in order to convert them to Islam, and to kill any Muslim who wishes to leave the religion of Islam.

 This “holy” book does not promote peace and tolerance as it is so often portrayed, but it promotes and justifies the kinds of murderous actions that we find being carried out faithfully today by Muslims all over the world.  In fact, within the Koran there are 109 specific verses which admonish and justify the kinds of atrocities that we see being carried out throughout the Muslim world.  Once again, don’t simply take my word for it, pick up a Koran and read it for yourself.
 
Returning the brutal murder of American Nick Berg, the six Muslims in the background of the photos and video that many of you have seen are not “radical extremists”; they are faithful Muslims who are obeying the words of Allah in the Koran.  In fact, as Nick Berg’s head was sawed off, this group of faithful Muslims shouted repeatedly in Arabic, “Allah is great!”  These Muslims were only doing as their god had commanded them.  In Koran 8:12-13, Allah says, “Strike off their heads.   Strike off their fingertips!... because they defied God and his Apostle.”   In Koran 4:89 Allah says, “Seize them and put them to death wherever you find them.”  Furthermore, in Koran 9:123 Allah says, “Believers, make war on the infidels who dwell around you.”  And again, in Koran 47:4, Allah declares, “When you meet the unbelievers in the battlefield strike off their heads and, when you have laid them low, bind your captives firmly.” 

Friends, this is just a small sampling of the words of the Muslim god Allah found in the Koran.  It is important to understand, when the Koran talks about “infidels”, “unbelievers”, those who “defied God and his Apostle”, these are all references to anyone who does not embrace the religion of Islam as truth.  These are not passages referring to some specific historical incident or group of people; these are general and universally applicable passages referring to any person who does not submit to the religion of Islam, anywhere, anytime.  What was the crime of Nick Berg?  Nick Berg did nothing wrong other than being a non-Muslim who came from a historically Christian nation, America (whether or not he was Christian I do not know?).  Nick Berg’s only crime was that according to the Koran he was an “infidel”, an “unbeliever” who had “defied God and his Apostle”; and being such, Nick Berg’s sentence was death by beheading as the Koran commands.

Friends, the world needs to wake up to the truth of what is being taught in the religion of Islam.  According to the Koran there is only one acceptable human situation: that is that all of humanity is to eventually submit to the will of Allah (Koran 9:33; 48:28; 3:17; 34:27; 35:37).  Whether this submission comes by the free-will of individuals who embrace Islam, or whether it comes through threats of death or the slaughter of innocent “unbelievers”, the only tolerable outcome according to the Koran is the total world-wide domination of Islam (Koran 8:40).  The truth needs to be told and it needs to be shared with all of those who have been deceived about the true nature of Islam, Muslims included.
 
I share these thoughts with you today not to promote fear, hatred, or bigotry against Muslims, but rather to help you to understand the truth.  I have no hatred in my heart towards any Muslim person.  Muslims are not the enemy, but Muslims are victims of the enemy.  Our true enemy is Satan, he “comes to steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10); and he is “the father of lies” (John 8:44).  Muslims have been led astray; they have been deceived and lied to in the Koran by the true enemy of the entire world, the fallen angel named Lucifer or Satan.  We need to know the truth; and Muslims need to know the truth.  The true God of the universe, Jesus Christ, did not come into the world to condemn the world, to behead unbelievers, or to force people into submission but Jesus came to save the world and provide all people with true life (John 3:16-17; John 10:10)
