A Note from Ed
Dear Friends, The summer has gone by in
a whirl of activity. Aside from a more than very busy ministry time, Carol and I have
moved to a small home near our kids as we prepare for Carols retirement in a few
months. It will be great to have her available to help with the administration of the
ministry. Actually, Carol I am beginning work on a new book... actually a Christian Education
manual with teachers guide on the cults and world religions. I will be writing with Eric Barger, a well-known author and
speaker on Cults and other religions. Eric is also a member of the Saints Alive Board of
Directors and involved in many aspects of our ministry. Your Brother in Christ,

Our Blessed Assurance
I was seated in church a few Sundays ago, during the Worship time and really grieving for the lost, almost feeling guilty that I could feel so close to the Lord while at the Mormon Church down the street, spiritually blind men and women were busy working out their salvation.
Then I heard the sounds of this hymn reach down into my heart. It was more than music to my ears. It described how I felt in the deepest part of my heart.
Blessed
Assurance
by Fanny J. Crosby
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
angels descending bring from above
echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest;
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
watching and waiting, looking above,
filled with his goodness, lost in his love.
This is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long;
this is my story, this is my song,
praising my Savior all the day long.
Fanny Crosby, the
woman who wrote those words, visions of rapture now burst in my sight was
actually blind, yet had sight far beyond this life.
Frances Jane "Fanny" Crosby (1820-1915) was a blind American hymn writer and
poet, who wrote over 8,000 hymns during her life. One time a preacher remarked, "I
think it is a great pity that the Master did not give you sight when He showered so many
other gifts upon you." She replied quickly, "Do you know that if at birth I had
been able to make one petition, it would have been that I should be born blind?"
"Why?" asked the surprised clergyman. "Because when I get to heaven, the
first face that shall ever gladden my sight will be that of my Savior!"
In the Local Paper
An article in our local paper caught my eye in early August. I am sure that not one other reader picked up on it. It was a story about a Mormon family from our town who went back and joined the cast of 600 Mormons at the Hill Cumorah Pageant, Americas Witness for Christ in Palmyra, NY.
It was a really nice story. They said it was the most awesome thing they had ever done as a family. I am sure it was.
What slammed out at me, however, were the words of the youngest, who, because she was under 14, couldnt audition for a role, but was assigned the part of a destruction victim.
After Christ died, we were all wicked people, so we died during the earthquake and mayhem, she said. All this water shot up and fireballs were going off and rocks kept falling down.
It certainly didnt sound like the Jesus Fanny Crosby wrote about when she penned, filled with his goodness, lost in his love.
But, it is the murderous Jesus of The Book of Mormon. This Book of Mormon Jesus brought death and destruction with him to the Cross. In 3 Nephi, Chapters 8 and 9, it details the events testifying of Christ's crucifixion. It describes the desolation of the great city of Zarahemla by fire, and the city of Moroni "did sink into the sea and the inhabitants thereof were drowned... the earth was carried up upon the city of Mornihah...there was great and terrible destruction in the land southward......terrible destruction in the land northward....the highways were broken up....many great and noble cities were sunk and many burned and many shaken till the buildings thereof had fallen to the earth.....all these great and terrible things were done in the space of three hours."
3 Nephi, Chapter 9, tells of further wrath as the Lord also destroyed the cities and inhabitants of Gigal, Onihah, Mocum, Jerusalem, Gadiandi, Gadiomnah, Jacob, Gimgimmo, Jacobugath, Laman, Josh, Gad, and Kishkumen. (A total of 16 major cities.)
Who did all this killing to testify of our Lord's atonement on Calvary? 3 Nephi 9:15 reveals the murderer of approximately 2 million innocent inhabitants of The Book of Mormon lands, "Behold, I am Jesus Christ the son of God. I created the heavens and the earth and all things that in them are." He adds, (in verse 21), "behold, I have come unto the world to bring redemption unto the world to save the world from sin."
I guess the easiest way was to kill almost every living creature; at least the vast majority of that portion of his "other sheep have I." This Mormon Jesus was a god of wrath and death.
Strange that such horrible destruction followed the death of Jesus for the other sheep when no such event occurred at the actual place of his death. While the earth did shake, no deaths were reported. In fact, people actually rose out from the grave.
The Biblical Jesus brought life, not death! When his disciples wanted judgment to fall on a village of Samaritans, He rebuked them.
Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem, and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him.
But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem. And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said, "Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?"
But He turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them." Luke 9:51-56
The Book of Mormon is a story of another Jesus, a murderous Christ.
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his
subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye
receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not
accepted, ye might well bear with him. 2 Cor 11:3,4

Masonic Oaths to hide the sins and crimes of other Masons?
A question came in last week from a man trying to witness to his Masonic father. He had shown his father the oath where the Mason swears to hide the crimes and sins of a fellow Mason, Murder and Treason excepted and told him that at higher levels murder and treason are included. The father said that such a thing would never be true, that murder and treason are excluded.
However, This father was agreeing that Masons, even Judges, are bound to hide and abet crimes such as rape, attempted murder and assault, wife beating, robbery and kidnapping to name a few.
Nevertheless, here is the text of the blood oath requiring silence and assistance in every crime. This is an evil thing.
The Royal Arch Mason swears,
"I will aid and assist a companion Royal Arch Mason, when engaged in any
difficulty, and espouse his cause, so far as to extricate him from the same, if in my
power, whether he be right or wrong. A companion Royal Arch Masons secrets,
given me in charge as such, and I knowing him to be such, shall remain as secure and
inviolable, in my breast as in his own, murder and treason not excepted".

Warren Jeffs:
Holy Prophet of God or pervert?
He is the Prophet of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints. Inherited the mantle from his father, Rulon Jeffs in 2002.
Polygamist sect leader Warren Jeffs arrested in Las Vegas
Brooke Adams and Pamela Manson
The Salt Lake Tribune, August 29, 2006
Updated: 10:40 AM- LAS VEGAS -- The fugitive leader of a polygamist sect has been captured in southern Nevada, the FBI said Tuesday.
Warren Steed Jeffs, 50, was taken into custody after he and two other people were pulled over late Monday by a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper on Interstate 15 just north of Las Vegas, FBI spokesman David Staretz said.
The other two people in the vehicle were identified as one of Warren Jeffs' wives, Naomi Jeffs, and a brother, Isaac Steed Jeffs, both 32, Staretz said. They were being interviewed Tuesday morning by the FBI in Las Vegas, but were not arrested.
Items in the vehicle when Jeffs was captured included: 27 stacks of $100 bills, worth $2,500 each; 14 cellular phones; a radar detector, two Global Positioning System units; two female wigs, one blonde and one brunette; several knives; several CDs; three watches; three Ipods; multiple credit cards; seven sets of keys; a photograph of Jeffs and his father; a Bible and a Book of Mormon.
Question! When will the evil child of Mormonism, polygamy, be
laid at the feet of its parent, the Mormon Church?
It will never be dealt a deathblow until the LDS Brethren accept responsibility for its
illegitimate offspring and root out this evil once and for all.
The press will not confront the source.
Speaking about Holy Prophets
What is the most
significant event
in all of Recorded History?
The Birth of Christ or His gift at
Calvary?
Think Again
.
Another holy prophet sets us straight:
LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley: I hope with all my heart that each member of this Church will read the story of the Prophet Joseph Smith, read the story of the First Vision and think about it, and pray about it, and cultivate within your hearts a testimony of the truth of that marvelous experience, when the Father and the Son appeared to the boy Joseph.
There's no other event in all recorded history that compares with it, not even at the baptism of the Savior. Jesus was there at that time to be baptized, and the voice of God was heard, and the Holy Ghost was manifest in the form of a dove. But God the Father was not seen. At the time of the Mount of Transfiguration, again the voice of God was heard, but He was not seen. Again, among the Nephites, when the resurrected Lord appeared among the Nephites, the voice of God was heard again, but He was not seen. Now think of that. All of those great and marvelous things have happened.
But in the year when Joseph knelt in the woods, both the Father and the Son appeared to him. And they spoke to him. And he spoke to them. He had an understanding of the Father and the Son that no other man had really ever experienced. From member meeting, Taipei, Taiwan, Aug. 1, 2005
The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err, and they that are led of them are destroyed. Isaiah 9:15-16
*********A Few Emails*******
Hello Mr. Decker, I've recently been listening to all of your audio discussions and lectures from your saints alive audio library, and just wanted to tell you how glad it makes me to see that there are other people out there standing up for the true Christian church of Christ. I could sit here for hours and tell you my life story, and how Mormonism has affected my life and my family's life, and how much it has discouraged my walk with God. But hearing your story has encouraged me to share Christ with the many Mormons I know. And so I just wanted to say God Bless you and what you're doing to help share the Word of God with the Mormons, because it needs to be done. I pray that you keep doing what you're doing, and may God bless you and your future witnessing. Thank you. :) Sarah

Ed Decker, Saints Alive: I was dismayed to find out my new son in law, a Baptist, is in to freemasonry. I asked him to read over some of these web sites that talked about masons and Christianity, and he maintains that all is fine. He hid this from my daughter and I and it was only after a couple years that I found out. He had an Albert Pike version of the NT and after getting my copy of this work and reading, I am convinced that masons are anti-Christian. Non-Christian However, you want to put it. The Baptist church has a real problem with masons and after reading this article, I understand why. Church growth isnt everything. Rich

Subject: Hey
Well, nice to be in contact with you again Mr. Decker. Been such a long time since we last
had a "chat." My name is Elder Joshua Bell; I am a full-time missionary at the
Seattle Temple. I work on the AM shift (ordinance worker) every morning, and you'll be
extremely happy to know that a great deal of proxy work was done for your relatives. I
know this makes you overjoyed that your ancestry is being given the opportunity to accept
the gospel on the other side of the veil. It was so nice to talk with you. I hope you have
a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Elder Joshua Bell

Eds Response:
Dear Josh,
My, My. Well, since they were spirit filled Christians I am sure your secret ceremonies
party gave them a hoot of laughs. Knowing Great Grandpa's affinity for the suds, he was
probably downing a frothy pint of Pay-Lay Ale as you finally got him a chance to accept or
deny something he already knew was balder-dash.

Subject: My Kingdom Come
Dear Ed: I have enjoyed reading the online chapters of My Kingdom Come while at
the same time feeling great grief concerning the many thousands being led astray. Where
can I get a copy of the rest of the book, is it completed yet? I have a great passion for
the witnessing to Mormons, for my sister recently married one and she is quickly falling
for the "wool costume". I would love any direction you can give in becoming a
part of a ministry involved with reaching out to Mormons. I live in the Dallas area of
Texas. Thank you for your ministry and sharing your experience and thank you for your
reply.
Brandon
Eds Response:
Dear Brandon, I have been putting a chapter of my book,
My
Kingdom Come up on the web a month... but will get the rest of the book
up soon. Too many people now asking for the whole book. It is a free download, but not in
print at this time.
Best you can do with your sister is pray and be a witness of Christ, show the real aspects
of the 'new creature' lifestyle, knowing that they are bound tight by works theology an do
so with much inner turmoil. The time WILL come when she or her husband will seek you out
in some crisis and then the wall of separation will fall.
Remember when Jesus said ... for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you
say, 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!'" Matt 23:39..... That's you.
In addition, Jesus was at that time in Jerusalem when he grieved over their stepping away
from truth to the ways and priesthoods of man... same story different times...
Thanks... for writing... When I first stepped into ministry with Mormons I just prayed,
"Lord, you open doors, you send them to me... and 30 years later He continues
to open doors, send people... pretty simple ministry plan... warmest regards, Ed

Mr. Decker, I just wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed reading your information on Mormonism. I am going through a transition period myself and your input and facts have opened my eyes a great deal and I am learning things I never knew. (Surprise!) I know the info you have put together has cost you a great deal of time and effort and I thought you should know it is appreciated. Sincerely, Charlotta

God bless you Sir I was just on waltermartin.org and heard (the recording of) you and him portraying your conversion experience! God bless you brother! Truly, it was an incredible thing to listen to you and Dr Martin, whom I consider a hero in the faith. I pray God will increase your ministry and give you the strength to further His kingdom's work! Joel
Eds Response:
Thanks for the kind
words... Dr. Martin was a dear and close friend, a mentor, my encourager and a mighty man
of God. Hero of the Faith for sure! Ed
NEW DVD
"The Bible vs. The Book
of Mormon"
from Living Hope Ministries
The Book of Mormon claims to be "a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible." Both the Bible and the Book of Mormon declare themselves to be ancient, historical, and reliable rules of faith...the Word of God.
Is there any evidence to support these claims...one way or another? Is it even possible to test a rule of faith? More to the point, is there any basis for placing one's faith in the Bible or The Book of Mormon?
It's an important question. It's an eternal question. This presentation puts the Bible and The Book of Mormon to the test. History, archaeology, textual criticism, and other disciplines combine to shed light on what is true...and what is false.
Faith need not--and should not--be blind. Discover which of these scriptures is worthy of your faith, and which contains the truth that will be a light to your path!
