MINISTRY UPDATE REPORT                                                          April - May 2003

This Issue:       Note From Ed - Underwear vs. Armor – Church of England and the Masons

A Note From Ed   Dear friends of Saints Alive…

I am changing the Newsletter process a bit this year, going to a quarterly general mailing for the actual Newsletter and this UPDATE REPORT out to our actual supporters on the months in between.   This past month has been busy and filled with wonderful ministry experiences. I was on the road, teaching in Washington State, Idaho and Oregon.   I have been at the NW Christian Workers’ Conference in Spokane where over 7,000 Christian Workers gather each year.  I have shared on Mormonism, Freemasonry and Islam.  It is exciting to be so occupied in the Lord’s work.

One of the newest things in the ministry are the CDs we are developing, with many out of print, rare written works on Mormonism and Freemasonry. The Mormonism Collection is ready to go. I am still finishing up the Freemasonry CD and it will be ready in about 2 weeks…about the time you read this.

The first is the Mormonism Collection:

These CDs are being purchased for $20.00 each at my book table and I would like to offer them to you this month, postage paid for the same amount. Not only will you find a wealth of out of print books and materials, your purchase will help in the creation of more CDs and help us keep the doors open.

We still need to raise $5,000 to convert our videos, The God Makers, Temple of the God Makers and The Mormon Dilemma to DVD…Please pray about your involvement. Your gift to that project will have lasting effects for years to come.  We have been trying to get this done for a while, but are still short on the funds needed to complete these projects.

I have been on the road the past two months traveling and speaking in eastern Washington and Idaho. I recently ministered in Wenatchee WA at the Christian Worker’s Conference with Jim Spencer and Eric Barger.  Spencer and I also ministered a powerful message in a joint church ministry with several local churches at a hotel. After the conference, I spoke at a Nazarene church in Spokane and met some of our supporters.

Carol and I traveled together to Hailey, Idaho and ministered at Valley Christian Fellowship with Pastors Mike and Carola Hendricks. We love this church and have developed a great relationship with the pastors. Jason attended this congregation for 2 years and worked to help start a thriving young adults fellowship ministry called “The River” We always look forward to minister near Sun Valley, where we once held Capstone.

The ministry is in need of some drastic changes. Please pray for Carol, Jason and I as we pray and make some adjustments to the day-to-day operations. The cash flow has come to a trickle and we have to make some tough choices as to how we allocate the support some of you are contributing to be most effective. Please make a commitment to pray for a big turnaround at Saints Alive.

We are seeing such an increase in the area of Islam. You cannot turn on the T.V. without the journalist in Iraq or studio anchor’s discussing it. Today, Bush just made the formal declaration that combat in IRAQ is officially over. Praise the Lord! It’s so amazing to see the minimal loss of life and now the Iraqis are free to make their own choices.

Please join us and commit to pray for the Gospel and Christians in IRAQ. Pray for churches to be birthed and planted and for the love of Christ bring them true freedom. The new reconstruction phase ordered by Bush need’s missionaries and churches to begin our part in the Rebirth of Iraq. This is such an amazing opportunity for the Gospel!

I pray for you all each day, asking God to bless and protect you and your loved ones during this time of National crises. If you have family or friends in the Iraqi area, please send us their names so we can be praying for them by name.

Your Brother In Christ,

Ed Decker

“It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain." -  Galatians 2:20-21
