Important Announcement: John L. Smith Ministries

March 15, 1920 / April 5, 2009
As many of you probably know already, our dear friend, John L. Smith was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday April 5, 2009 after over 68 Years in Ministry. As I stated in my June newsletter, John was a fearless zealot and worked relentlessly in his calling of God, bringing uncountable Mormons to the truth and salvation of the Real Christ.
He will be greatly missed. John was one of those quiet heroes of the faith, always in the harvest field at work. He was my friend and fellow worker over the more than 30 years we labored, often side by side in the same fields.
Since his passing, I have been in communication with his family and Board, sharing their concern that his life’s work not be lost, but be continued, even expanded. It must go on.
In honor of John and his life’s work, we have agreed with his Board and family to absorb his ministry within Saints Alive. We will be in Marlow, OK in mid-June to meet with his family and those who worked with him to make the transition.
Saints Alive has an extremely active web site, and is incorporating John’s website as a special segment of the over-all site with most of his articles, teachings and books for free downloading, as well as have his books and other items in the on-line bookstore. John’s materials will be an asset and a blessing and can truly reach millions of more people than ever before.
I will appreciate any thoughts or suggestions you have in helping me do the best job in honoring him
On John’s website, there is an article in which he talks about the achievements of his life. He mentions one in particular.
“In 1987 I attended an annual meeting of the Associated Ministries of Capstone. I was the first to receive the annual plaque for, "Recognition of his lifetime of tireless service in defense of the Faith…."
He was speaking about the annual Capstone Conference sponsored by Saints Alive. In attendance were over 500 people who were in various ministries to Mormons. We honored him before his many peers because he symbolized the best God had to offer the Mormons, a dedicated, committed man of God living out his calling every day.
We meant it then and we mean it even more today.

In Christ, your brother,
